..In ihrem Video Ein/Aus rückt die Künstlerin dem Symbol des Phallus in ironischer Weise mit all seinen Konnotationen von Macht, Stärke und hierarchischer Vormachtstellung auf den Leib. Der domestizierte Phallus erlernt' darin das Betätigen eines Lichtschalters, den er in sisyphoshafter Manier und in permanenter Wiederholung ein- und ausschaltet. Bei diesem Dressurakt wird der Phallus zum Penis und kann die ihm zugeschriebenen Rollen und das gesellschaftliche Funktioniergebot spielerisch abstreifen. Damit einhergehend verändert sich auch die Perzeption des Weiblichen, das mit der traditionellen Konzeption als Ort des Rein-Raus-Spiels' nicht mehr ohne Vorbehalte assoziiert werden kann.

Thus, in her video entitled On / Off, reflecting an ironic take on her subject, the artist approaches the symbol of the phallus, replete with all its connotations of power, strength, and hierarchical predominance. The domesticated phallus, in this instance, acquires the ability to operate a light switch, which it manages, not unlike Sisyphus, to keepflicking on and off in permanent repetition. Thus in an act of seallike training the phallus becomes a performing penis. lt can playfully shake off the role society demands and all the other socially imposed requirements to function in a given way.
